i just spent the whole day doing a piece for gfxpixels and my dad decided to go and test the breakers. i obviously didnt save my work, so there goes a whole bunch of hours wasted of my life. i dont even know if i feel like redoing it anymore. ugh.

for all these years, i've somehow managed to keep my workspace free of food and beverage related distaster. i'm a clumsy idiot, so its a miracle that i havent made a mess yet. of course something so wonderful couldnt stay that way right?

so i somehow managed to drop a can of coke on my keyboard yesterday night. now all my key are sticky and my shift button slowly sinks in to the keyboard and doesnt pop back out. so i now have 2 'caps lock' buttons.

i'm really debating whether i should just by a new one instead of cleaning it...

NINJA EDIT: OMG there's huge gooey coke stains all over my tablet and my pen!!1 i didnt even notice that before T_T

in other news, i finally finished my sister-in-laws' catalog for BASOBA. i'll be uploading it shortly. i've never had so many problems with a project in my life. the photographer did a terrible job and i was stuck doing the color correction as well as the illustrations and the layouts.

now i'm sure you're thinking 'phhssst, color correction, that shit is easy!!11'

oh sure i'm sure it is when the pictures are taken properly. but when the light or lack thereof and ratios are different in every single image, it rapidly turns into a huge clusterfuck. i swear if i see the photographer again, i'm leg dropping him in the kneecaps.

so mucho stress, 10 hours of sleep over 6 days, too many quadriple espressos to count, one fist fight, an inch long gash behind my head, many tears shed (not by me), a random phone call at 7:30AM and panic attack from crappy rgb>cmyk conversion, i am finally done.

now to what extent are 'owners' of our own design styles? especially when most of us are graphic designers where sticking to a style is something that can hurt us more than help. variety and flexibility in terms of visual communication was and always will be the greatest way to reach your target audience. what good is your uber kewl style if it doesnt speak to your target market really?

designers are used to visually sampling many different styles, techniques, layouts and ideas to come to their means. does that make us the lower end of the art spectrum for just copying peoples' stuff because we're too lazy to come up with our own ideas?

well my little moment of fame is over. thx to the DD, i had almost +900 visitors and +70 favs that day. out of those, a dozen decided to stick around a watch so thank you to all those that appreciate my work

i hope you guys enjoyed the collabos i did with ladysnowbloodz and the mighty kngzero. i got more collabos on the way. i also plan on doing a series for the chinese mythical animals. after the ki'lin, i got a dragon/leviathan and a phoenix piece coming up

1. i have the worst sleeping habits ever. everyday i wake up/go to sleep 15-30 minutes than the night before. so now i sleep at 7am and wake up around 1pm

3. i love graff, but i'm too much of a pussy to go hit up a wall.
4. i'm an aspiring fashion designer. as a matter of fact, all my layouts are done with a tshirt print in mind

10. ILLMATIC is my favorite album of all time. i could listen to it all day everyday.
11. i'm a big geek. i used to collect comic books and play MTG at one point. i still love comics though, but i just cant stand having to buy eleventy billion alternate covers with special foil/embossing/hologram prints
12. i'm damn skinny now. i lost all the weight i gained over the summer after i got food poisoning for a week
13. i sell car parts, but i dont even have my license.
